John-Paul Henry

JP was a long distance runner who attended his first yoga class at We Yogis after the studio opened in 2012. He discovered yoga after developing foot pain problems from, and he feel in love with the solace that came from the mind body connection, and the physical challenges that came from the practice. He is a native of Colorado, and completed his Power Vinyasa training through South Hills Power Yoga in Pittsiburgh in 2016. He still a competitive runner, having completed his 5th Boston Marathon and 11th overall at the distance in April 2018.


John-Paul Henry instructs the following:
  • Rockin Yogis
  • Practice in this open-level vinyasa flow with optional inversions set to upbeat, current music. This rockin class turns up the heat through an energetic vinyasa practice where you will develop flexibility, balance, strength, and endurance. You will be challenged by traditional and creative sequences with modifications offered throughout the class if you are newer to the practice or simply want to take it down a notch. Be ready to sweat as you link your breath to the flow. This Rockin flow is appropriate for all who are physically fit; Previous yoga experience recommended. (65 min; Intensity Level 1/2, Room is Heated)

  • Happy Hour Yogis (All Levels)
  • Integrate breath, movement, alignment, strength and flexibility for a true Vinyasa experience. This uplifting and energizing class is suitable for beginners and challenging for practicing yogis. Class is practiced in a warm room (80-83 degrees) with no added humidity. (1 hour; Intensity Level 1/2+)

  • We Precision Flow
  • We Precision Flow embraces the fundamental principles of traditional Ashtanga (Ujjayi breath, bandhas, and drishti) in a sequenced, energetic, challenging flow. This challenging yet accessible class will supplement your practice with its emphases on core strength, flexibility, and balance. No muscle group gets left behind! Incorporating asanas from Ashtanga, this moving meditation dives into deep twisting, forward folding, back bending, handstands, arm balances, shoulder stands, and the support of props when needed to access deeper postures. Every class brings something new! Modifications available for all levels. (1 hour)

  • We Flow
  • Integrate breath, movement, alignment, strength and flexibility for a true Vinyasa experience. This uplifting and energizing class is suitable for beginners and challenging for practicing yogis. Class is practiced in a warm room (83-85 degrees) with no added humidity. (1 hour)

  • We Slow Flow
  • This beginner/open level sequence will help you build strength, increase flexibility and find focus. You will learn the fundamental postures and principles that create a successful and effective yoga practice. This class is a Vinyasa series, meaning breath is linked to movement, and set to music. This yoga class is ideal for anyone new to yoga or those who want to slow it down (including Prenatal Yogis). Class is practiced in a room with no added humidity. (1 hour; Intensity Level 1/2)
